Election Commission Announces Phase 3 of Lok Sabha 2024 Polls

The Election Commission of India has announced the details for Phase 3 of the General Elections to the Lok Sabha 2024. According to a press note released on April 11, 2024, the gazette notification for 94 Parliamentary Constituencies across 12 states/union territories will be issued on April 12, 2024.


The states/UTs included in Phase 3 are Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.


Polling for these 94 constituencies, along with the adjourned poll in the 29-Betul (ST) Parliamentary Constituency of Madhya Pradesh, will be held on May 7, 2024. The election for 29-Betul (ST) PC was initially scheduled in Phase 2 but was postponed due to the death of a contesting candidate from the Bahujan Samaj Party.


Key Dates:

- Last date for nominations in Phase 3 for all 12 states/UTs: April 19, 2024

- Polling date: May 7, 2024

The notification comes after the successful completion of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year. The Election Commission continues to ensure free, fair, and transparent polls across the country.
