Notification and Production Capacity

In a significant move to boost the agricultural sector, the Government of India has notified Nano Urea as a nano fertilizer under the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO). This groundbreaking development has the potential to revolutionize farming practices across the country.

On 24th February, 2021, the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) officially notified Nano Urea (Liquid) produced by IFFCO as a nano fertilizer under the FCO. Further, on 6th March, 2023, DA&FW also notified the specification of Nano Urea to be manufactured by M/s Ray Nano Science and Research Centre for a period of three years.

Expanding Horizons

The Government of India is not directly involved in setting up Nano Urea plants. However, fertilizer companies have informed that they have decided to set up six more Nano Urea plants in the country. This expansion highlights the growing demand and acceptance of this innovative fertilizer among farmers.
